Cape May

What a fabulous Beach Town and Great Vacation!  We're actually en route from Cape May back to Ohio as we speak! It's a 10 hour drive.....Fortunately for us Nolan has been excellent in the car!!! We left last Friday evening and drove till Harrisburg PA where we met my parents and stayed the night. The next morning we took off about 9:30am. After fighting both Philly & Cape May traffic, we arrived at Exit 0 and checked into the Blue Pig (Pip's 300 year old Beach House) at 1:30pm. Pip is a very special friend of the family and we couldn't wait for her & Nolan to meet. We were glad she was able to spend so much time with us!

As soon as we got in town we changed and headed to the beach. Despite the cloudy weather we couldn't wait for Nolan to see the beach, afterall we prepared him for the ocean for the last month. He loved it!!! He ran and giggled and splashed and kicked and giggled even more !!! Very cute to see and brought a big smile to all of our faces! Later Saturday night, Nana, Granpda, and Auntie finally made it. This was our first big family vacation. We had an awesome week full of great company, good food, beach walks, sand castle building, wave jumping, salty kisses,  seagull chasing,  LOTS of ice cream, porch rockin, seashell collecting, boat dock walks, beach napping, lots of laughs, sunshine, coloring, and sweet family time !!!

I think everyone had a great time and we already can't wait till next year! As we said our goodbyes today, Nolan told Pip he loved Cape May. I can only hope this becomes a yearly tradition  :-D

Now off to sort thru the 2500+ pictures of our trip......

Weekend Fun

We had a fun filled weekend complete with an overnight visit from Auntie! Nolan played hookie from school Friday and got to spend the day with his Daddy &  Aunt Anna which started with breakfast at MickeyDee's! Nolan of course had his very favorite, PANCAKES. He was nearly a clean plater finishing almost 3 whole pancakes. WOW!!!!

Next stop was a visit to Cabella's so Nolan could check out the fishies.

We finished Friday evening with an early fire, smores and a movie in the basement. Since Daddy had to work Saturday we met him for a lunch date at City BBQ and Josie's Frozen Yogurt. Nolan enjoyed his special treat complete with gummy worms, sprinkles, blueberries, fruity pebbles and M&M's.

Sunday was absolutely gorgeous (Totally felt like Fall..... LOVED) So we packed a cooler, the stroller and took our little Monkey to the Zoo. Like I said, it was perfect out & we had a great time. Nolan enjoyed checking out all the animals and even braved it for a boat ride thru Dinosaur Island. We even ran into Doug, Jacqueline and Baby Carter!

Check out this video of Nolan telling the Tigers to GET UP:

We ended the weekend with popsicles on the patio and a wrestle mania session with Uncle. Blessed to have such great family to share the weekends with <3 !!!

1,2,3,8,9

Is how Nolan counts to 10. I think he is a little confused :) Nick and I both laughed as he was reading us a number book the other night.

We've been busy the last couple weeks enjoying summer. We got to celebrate the 4th, attend a wedding, started swim lessons and have enjoyed lots of pool time, popsicles, and fun with the neighbors.

We're looking forward to our Beach Trip in just a few short weeks!

I feel safe when you are with me,
You show me fun things to do.
You make my life much better,
The best father I know is you !!!

I’m happy you’re my Dad
And so I want to say
I love you, Dad, and wish you
A Happy Father’s Day!

Life is like a Camera -
Focus on what's important.
Capture the good times.
Develop from the negatives.
And if things don't work out, Take Another Shot !!!

Noli-isms

Last night Nick & I laid and bed and talked about Nolan for over 45 mins. He has changed so much in even the last 30 days. He is talking in sentences now - sometimes 3, 4 words at a time. He has started repeating the last couple words of everything we say, he hears on TV..... He is a trip !!!!!! So I thought I would share with all of you some of his "Noli-ism's":

Woody/ Buzz - This is him asking for Toy Story. Completely OBSESSED! It's bad. We watched 3 times alone last Sun AM. In fact he must have been dreaming and the other night at 4:00AM he murmured Woody/Buzz.

Lanky Time - He wants a Blanket.

Cookie Lanky - A Cookie Monster Towel that he has to take with him EVERYWHERE !!!

Blue Water – He wants something to drink in his blue sippy cup. Water is now usually preferred over milk.

Bubble Time – Bath Time. With LOTS & LOTS of bubbles

Mama Like It – This is usually said with a sour, squishy face and what he really means is he DOES NOT LIKE IT!

Nono’s Car, Black Car, Daddy Car – He uses all 3 to refer to Nick’s Acura. Love it when he calls it Nono’s Car

HOME – If we are anywhere, out to eat, shopping, even at Meme’s and he’s had enough….. Next word is always Home. Mama Home.

Lakey & Jaxon – Almost every night on the way home from Meme’s he asks about playing with Blake & Jackson

Fish – Also a new obsession….. Fishing. Every night he grabs his pole in the garage corner, “Mama Fish”

Shoes On – He wants his shoes off. We need to work on this one :)

Daddy Glove - This means he wants to play catch. Grab your baseball mitt Daddy!

BaketBall - AKA Basketball

Hockey Puck - Just a random one liner he has repeated over & over again from the movie Toy Story. So Random. So Hilarious !!!!

And of course my favorite: “I Luh You Mama”

Such a sweet sound for your ears right ?!
