Noli-isms

Last night Nick & I laid and bed and talked about Nolan for over 45 mins. He has changed so much in even the last 30 days. He is talking in sentences now - sometimes 3, 4 words at a time. He has started repeating the last couple words of everything we say, he hears on TV..... He is a trip !!!!!! So I thought I would share with all of you some of his "Noli-ism's":

Woody/ Buzz - This is him asking for Toy Story. Completely OBSESSED! It's bad. We watched 3 times alone last Sun AM. In fact he must have been dreaming and the other night at 4:00AM he murmured Woody/Buzz.

Lanky Time - He wants a Blanket.

Cookie Lanky - A Cookie Monster Towel that he has to take with him EVERYWHERE !!!

Blue Water – He wants something to drink in his blue sippy cup. Water is now usually preferred over milk.

Bubble Time – Bath Time. With LOTS & LOTS of bubbles

Mama Like It – This is usually said with a sour, squishy face and what he really means is he DOES NOT LIKE IT!

Nono’s Car, Black Car, Daddy Car – He uses all 3 to refer to Nick’s Acura. Love it when he calls it Nono’s Car

HOME – If we are anywhere, out to eat, shopping, even at Meme’s and he’s had enough….. Next word is always Home. Mama Home.

Lakey & Jaxon – Almost every night on the way home from Meme’s he asks about playing with Blake & Jackson

Fish – Also a new obsession….. Fishing. Every night he grabs his pole in the garage corner, “Mama Fish”

Shoes On – He wants his shoes off. We need to work on this one :)

Daddy Glove - This means he wants to play catch. Grab your baseball mitt Daddy!

BaketBall - AKA Basketball

Hockey Puck - Just a random one liner he has repeated over & over again from the movie Toy Story. So Random. So Hilarious !!!!

 

And of course my favorite: “I Luh You Mama”

Staycation

Nick & I just back from the Fabulous Las Vegas! What a great vacation. Nolan ALSO had a pretty great vacation or Staycation. He got to spend time with  both Grammie & Papa Chinn and Nana & Papa Gallagher! I tell ya what.... this little boy is loved and sooo spoiled !!!

I had an absolute AMAZING Mother's Day Weekend !!! Nick & Nolan are too good to me! Sunday we took it easy. Breakfast in bed, flowers & gifts, lunch @ Bonefish, & cocktails, cake and snuggles with my angel!!! Here is my Mother's Day recap in pictures:

Gone Fishin'

He was so ecstatic he was squealing/shouting "Fishy, Fishy" over & over again.

Can't wait to open his new pole he got for his Birthday. I have a feeling Nick & Nolan will be spending quite a bit of time at the pond this summer ; )

Happy 2nd Birthday !!!!

Happy Birthday, Birthday Boy !!!

What a very special day you had !!! We started off the day with a tasty Birthday Breakfast: Blueberry Pancakes topped with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, & TWO blue candles. You cleaned house and waxed almost 2 whole pancakes.

 

 

 

 

After breakfast Daddy dropped you off at Meme's for the morning so you could see your friends on your Birthday. Your Meme was so wonderful to you... She got you 2 new summer outfits and a bunch of fun boy toys....Frogs, Lizards, Snakes & Bubbles too.

 

 

You received so many "Happy Birthday" messages from friends & family all day long. Here is a special email from your Grammie & Papa:

 

 

After a fun trip to the mall and playground, your birthday ended with dinner at  your favorite, Red Robin. The staff sang Happy Birthday and brought you a very giant hot fudge sundae with sprinkles & whipped cream. You were the envy of every small child in the restaurant! Minus the small bite you shared with Dad, you ate EVERY last drop. We of course left with a BLUUUE BALLOON : )

 

Hard to believe you are now Two Years Old. As your Dad said this birthday was very bittersweet for us, but we know the best is yet to come ; ) Looking forward to all the Terrible Two Tantrums, Special Memories, Lots of Love & Fun Times this next year will bring !!!!

Reflecting on Nolan....

Today is the last day my Son is 1 year old. The past 2 years have flown by (just like everyone said they would.) He is no longer a baby. We talk to each other and play each night when I get home from work. He no longer likes to be held and wants to do everything on his own. He is now a little person. The best compliment we ever receive about Nolan is when people tell us that he is so well behaved. My Dad laughs each time he asks me, “How is my Grandson” and I respond each time, “He is a good boy.” He then says to me, “Just like his Father.” Nolan truly is a “good boy.” I could not be more proud of him. Michelle and I always joke that we hit the “Life Lottery.” He is the most good natured, even tempered, happy, and loving child I have ever met. We are incredibly blessed.

 

Michelle and I have learned a lot from having Nolan in our lives. Everything changes when you have a child. Your definition of important completely shifts. I believe that Nolan makes me and his mother better people every day. He is what makes me think before I act. He is what drives me. He is what I think about, worry about, and smile about numerous times throughout my day. We have gained another level of respect for our parents and the job they did in raising us. We both have BIG shoes to fill!

 

 

Tomorrow morning will be bittersweet. I will rush into his room and wish him Happy Birthday and make sure he has the best birthday possible. A small part of me is sad because I know we will never get to experience his last 2 years with him again. However, deep down I know the best is yet to come…..

Mama & Dada

Late Easter Post !!!

Better late than never.... right ?! We had a great Easter Weekend. Nolan loves going home and visiting with everyone. He has started to ask much more lately about Grammie & Papa & Nana &  Auntie & Uncle & Georgia & Tootsie..... I bet he wonders why it takes 2 hours in a car to see them ?! Anyhow we had Easter Brunch at Prime 93 in Akron. Gigi & Papa even came and Nolan was quite well behaved minus a small meltdown on the floor of the restaurant.

 

While we were back home, a special bunny made a special trip to Gables Xing. Of course we made a bid deal about searching for this Easter Treat. We looked under the table, in the pantry, in the bathroom, etc. etc. Nolan loved all the Hoopla & of course, his Easter Present. He got a few new books, Elmo DVD, pinwheel, new swim trunks & rash guard for the beach, and a little bit of chocolate : )
