He was so ecstatic he was squealing/shouting "Fishy, Fishy" over & over again.

Can't wait to open his new pole he got for his Birthday. I have a feeling Nick & Nolan will be spending quite a bit of time at the pond this summer ; )

Happy Birthday, Birthday Boy !!!

What a very special day you had !!! We started off the day with a tasty Birthday Breakfast: Blueberry Pancakes topped with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, & TWO blue candles. You cleaned house and waxed almost 2 whole pancakes.

 

 

 

 

After breakfast Daddy dropped you off at Meme's for the morning so you could see your friends on your Birthday. Your Meme was so wonderful to you... She got you 2 new summer outfits and a bunch of fun boy toys....Frogs, Lizards, Snakes & Bubbles too.

 

 

You received so many "Happy Birthday" messages from friends & family all day long. Here is a special email from your Grammie & Papa:

 

 

After a fun trip to the mall and playground, your birthday ended with dinner at  your favorite, Red Robin. The staff sang Happy Birthday and brought you a very giant hot fudge sundae with sprinkles & whipped cream. You were the envy of every small child in the restaurant! Minus the small bite you shared with Dad, you ate EVERY last drop. We of course left with a BLUUUE BALLOON : )

 

Hard to believe you are now Two Years Old. As your Dad said this birthday was very bittersweet for us, but we know the best is yet to come ; ) Looking forward to all the Terrible Two Tantrums, Special Memories, Lots of Love & Fun Times this next year will bring !!!!

Reflecting on Nolan....

Today is the last day my Son is 1 year old. The past 2 years have flown by (just like everyone said they would.) He is no longer a baby. We talk to each other and play each night when I get home from work. He no longer likes to be held and wants to do everything on his own. He is now a little person. The best compliment we ever receive about Nolan is when people tell us that he is so well behaved. My Dad laughs each time he asks me, “How is my Grandson” and I respond each time, “He is a good boy.” He then says to me, “Just like his Father.” Nolan truly is a “good boy.” I could not be more proud of him. Michelle and I always joke that we hit the “Life Lottery.” He is the most good natured, even tempered, happy, and loving child I have ever met. We are incredibly blessed.

 

Michelle and I have learned a lot from having Nolan in our lives. Everything changes when you have a child. Your definition of important completely shifts. I believe that Nolan makes me and his mother better people every day. He is what makes me think before I act. He is what drives me. He is what I think about, worry about, and smile about numerous times throughout my day. We have gained another level of respect for our parents and the job they did in raising us. We both have BIG shoes to fill!

 

 

Tomorrow morning will be bittersweet. I will rush into his room and wish him Happy Birthday and make sure he has the best birthday possible. A small part of me is sad because I know we will never get to experience his last 2 years with him again. However, deep down I know the best is yet to come…..

Late Easter Post !!!

Better late than never.... right ?! We had a great Easter Weekend. Nolan loves going home and visiting with everyone. He has started to ask much more lately about Grammie & Papa & Nana &  Auntie & Uncle & Georgia & Tootsie..... I bet he wonders why it takes 2 hours in a car to see them ?! Anyhow we had Easter Brunch at Prime 93 in Akron. Gigi & Papa even came and Nolan was quite well behaved minus a small meltdown on the floor of the restaurant.

 

While we were back home, a special bunny made a special trip to Gables Xing. Of course we made a bid deal about searching for this Easter Treat. We looked under the table, in the pantry, in the bathroom, etc. etc. Nolan loved all the Hoopla & of course, his Easter Present. He got a few new books, Elmo DVD, pinwheel, new swim trunks & rash guard for the beach, and a little bit of chocolate : )

Happy St. Patrick's Day from the O'Gallagher's : )

 

Nolan started off the weekend with a St. Patty's Day Celebration at Meme's Friday Afternoon. I sent him with these festive treats to pass out to his buddies.

 

 

He makes a pretty handsome leprachaun huh ? I mean you'd have to with the name Nolan Gallagher - right ?!

 

 

 

I think the Luck of the Irish was with us this lucky weekend. Nolan went accident free all day Friday !!! He is getting so good with this potty stuff. Sat. & Sun AM he even told us he had to go "poop". If he keeps up such good work, we might, knock on wood, be in big boy undies be early April. Just in time for someone's special day !!!!

 

Sunday we had visitors and an  authentic St. Patty's Day Meal - Slow Cooked Corned Beef Reubens and Potatoes for lunch. It was Grandpa Gallagher's Birthday! Nolan loved him some chocolate cake AND got to skip afternoon nap.

Pete & Repeat

Last night I had uncontrollable hiccups...... guess who else did ?! Little Baby Pete !!! He is so funny. He has turned into quite a sponge which means Mommy & Daddy really need to mind their P's & Q's. We won't mention the "H- E -Double Hockey Sticks" phrase he repeated last week......

Anyhow - We got to have a mid week rendezvous this week. Unfortunately I wish it were under better circumstances (Double Ear Infection), but loved the extra cuddle time.

I think it's safe to say everyone in the Gallagher Household is OVER winter and the sick germs. Hopefully Spring is right around the corner (21 days to be exact!!!). I think we're all ready for some fresh air, sunshine & bike rides. Not to mention a SPECIAL Birthday. You can ask Nolan how old he is going to be and in the sweetest voice he responds "Twoooooooo".  I can not even believe it when I hear it come out of his mouth. Two Years Old. That is 730 days he's been in our lives. I am getting emotional as I write this, but I guess it' s true what they say, "Time Flies When you are Having Fun!"

And Nolan is such a fun age right now. He loves Choo Choo's, Blocks & Mickey. His favorite movies: Nemo & Cars. Eats everything and anything. Really loves fresh veggies & fruits, pancakes & avacados. Loves Bubble (Bath Time) and having visitors. Most recently Grammie, Papa, Tootsie & Georgia. And the weekend before that Auntie, Nana and Poppa. He also loves his doggies Rah Rah & Jakey... he asks about them EVERY SINGLE night on the way home from Meme's. I am looking forward to Spring & Summer with this sweet little sponge : )

We woke up early and had a special Valentine Day Breakfast - Blueberry Muffins (one of Noli's Faves) and Love Potion #9 Smoothies. Nolan gave me this sweet book, "Me & My Mom!" too. I am excited to read with him tonight!

 

 

Last night Nolan helped with his Valentine's for Meme's: Valentine Kisses !!!
