Tasting the Air!

Over the 525+ pics (no exaggeration)  I snapped of Nolan this past weekend, his tongue was hanging out of half of them !!! He must have really been concentrating hard, or maybe just tasting the air : ) 

We couldn't help but laugh every time we looked at him! He reminded me of Winky, a horse my Grandpa owned with NO TEETH. His tongue was ALWAYS hanging out! For a laugh, here is a side by side comparison:

I am guessing all of this tongue exercise must have been quite exhausting, because Nolan fell asleep, vertical in his crib.

Or maybe the exhaustion was from learning new tricks. Our lil man now knows how to "High Five!" He get so excited, the 5 sometimes turns into 15 !!! I need to get a video, but here are a few snapshots in the meantime:

Pearly White Club

I am proud to say Nolan is an official member of the Pearly White Club !!! I thought for sure he'd be eating Birthday Cake with no teeth.

Almost 11 months, but here they are: (and 2 at one once)

Curiosity Killed the Cat

Nolan is definitely taking advantage of his curiosity..... He is into EVERYTHING !!! He pulls himself up on anything in reach & is never afraid to let go. He is a huge risk taker. If he thinks he can make it from point A to Point B, even with consequence, he'll go for it. And for proof - check out his new shiner: (My poor baby)

So, with Nolan's new curiosity Nick & I have decided we need to get on the ball with "real" baby proofing. We bought 2 gates to try and keep him confined to the living room. He was not happy about Baby Jail, but is coming around.....

Also part of growing up - moving to the big boy car seat (tear). We did purchase an awesome new car seat this weekend, but am hoping to get 6 more weeks in his infant carrier before we officially switch him over. I know this will be harder on mom than baby : )

This weekend Nolan has also discovered making friends. And when I say making friends, I mean feeding the dogs. I thought it was coincidence at first, but no..... he literally dropped cheerios for the dogs at least six times in a row. Giggling with EVERY drop.....

Oh Noli Bear - there is never a day that goes by that your curiosity doesn't make me & your Daddy smile : )

10 Months

Today is Nolan's 10 Month Birthday !!! I can not even believe it.... 1 year old in 2 months doesn't seem possible.......He is full of personality - ornery too : )
